Obituary of John Anderson

John Earl Anderson, 86 of Tarpon Springs, FL. passed away August 25, 2019 at Palm Garden of Clearwater in the Palliative Care Unit. He was born and  raised in Mayport, Illinois. Upon high school graduation he joined the navy for two years and proceeded to graduate from McAllister College in St. Paul, Minnesota with a BS degree in Biology.

John lived in Florida for 57 years was was preceeded in death by his wife Peggy Anderson.

Surviving John is his wife Diane Anderson of 27 years and 6 children: Yvonne Anderson of Palm Harbor FL; Dawn Callaway of Ellijay, GA; Mark Anderson of Madison,FL; Paul Anderson of Austin, TX; Dawn Cantrell Moore of Jacksonville, FL; and Todd Cantrell of Chapel Hill, NC. He was also “PAPA” to 19 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He was active for many years at Northside Baptist Church. He worked for Allstate Insurance for 35 years and  then followed by 3 years with the JUA of Florida.

John was a very resourceful and independent man of many talents, loved gardening, 

Amateur Radio,  reading, and loved the ride on his Harley motorcycle!

His memorial service will be held Thursday September 19th at 1pm at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd. in St. Petersburg, FL.

There will be a committal service 1:00PM Thursday, September 19, 2019, at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd, Bay Pines, FL 33708.
