Obituary of Leonard S. Hibsher

HIBSHER, Leonard “Lenny” Stanley age 83, died April 13 2021. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 53 years, Patty Hibsher. He is also survived by his brother William Hibsher, his beloved children, Jaqueline Faust, David Lesser, Alisa Shank, Karen Berrebbi, and Marc Hibsher, and his grandchildren Alex Faust, Lauren Faust, Haley Michelle Smith, Kaitlin Haslam, Matthew Hibsher and Brooke Hibsher.

Lenny was born on November 18, 1937 in Brooklyn NY to Max and Bertha Hibsher. He served his country proudly in the Korean War and returned to Brooklyn where he started a long career in business. A devoted husband and family man, nothing was more important to Lenny than his loved ones, including his two cats that he left behind, Blue and Grey, who he doted on. Despite a tough childhood, Lenny always saw the beauty around him, and one of his passions was horticulture, especially orchids, and his yards and plants were often the envy of his friends. _

Lenny had a life-changing experience when he suffered a nearly fatal heart attack in 2013 and made a determined effort to live his last days to the fullest. He consistently told everyone around him, even strangers, how amazing and wonderful they were and how much he loved them all. He became far more spiritual and at peace, letting go of all negativity, anger and regrets, and treated each day as a blessing. He survived 8 more years and every one of them was spent telling his loved ones what they meant to him, until his last breath.
