Obituary of Dorothy Lam

Dorothy went by many aka's such as Mom, Dorse, Dottie, Grandma Dorothy and perhaps even a few more.

She passed away August 9th at the age of 97. Dottie resided with her daughter Jeanne and son in law Sean. Everyone that knew Dottie may have known different sides of her, but everyone would be in agreement that she loved life and loved to laugh. Whether it was work or play, she was always laughing and made others laugh too. She was one of a kind, she was a bright light to so many. 

Dorothy was born in 1923 in Indianapolis, Indiana and married Ken Lam in 1942. They were happily married for 55 years. Dottie and Ken moved to Florida and worked in retail at Maas Brothers in St. Petersburg, Fl where she spent the rest of her life. Dottie worked at JC Penny's in the fine Jewelry Dept. and spent over 30 years there until she retired. She also volunteered for many years with the St. Petersburg Police Dept.

She had 3 children ; Susan Westerhoff, her partner Robin Pence, the late Kenneth O. Lam, Jeanne & husband Sean Keeney. 6 grandchildren Gwen Anderson, Thomas Aldrich, Karen Slaydon, her fiance Edwardo Carmona, Sharon Smith, her husband Roger, the late Ronnie Scrimo, Michael Kittle, his fiance Taby. 11 great grandchildren. Lennie Gomez, Quin Slaydon, Kamyrn Slaydon, McKenna Slaydon, Ethan Carmona, Dylan Anderson, Logan Anderson, Skyla Paulson, Aubrey Porter, Maylia and Ronnie Kittle. 1 great great grandchild Myles.

Visitation for Dottie will be 11 am - 12 pm Monday, August 16, 2021 with Funeral Service at 12,  all at David C. Gross Funeral Home, 6366 Central Avenue, Sty. Petersburg. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Clearwater.
