Obituary of Nancy Johnson

Nancy Ringelspaugh Johnson, passed away on February 22, 2024 in the peace and grace only God can provide. Her cancer is gone. She is completely healed and in the presence of her Savior.

Nancy was born on April 20, 1953 in Tampa, Florida to Kate and Gerald Ringelspaugh. She leaves behind her husband of 50 years, Alan, son Matthew (Annie), daughters Mary Carter (Raymond), Sarah Kruck (Jason) and eight grandchildren she adored. She also leaves behind three loving sisters, Sharon Jones, Cathy Ringelspaugh, and Linda Smith, as well as, brothers-in-law, Larry Smith and Kipp Johnson, and sister-in-law Kay Johnson (Marshall) as well as many wonderful cousins, nieces and nephews.

After marrying Alan in 1973, they eventually moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1980 where they raised their family. After successfully running three small businesses, she went back to school and earned her BA from USF St. Pete in Special Education. Nancy retired from Pinellas County Schools in 2011 after teaching at Azalea Middle School for thirteen years.

In her retirement she loved traveling with Alan, her sisters, or really an anyone who wanted an adventure. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren, her girlfriends, playing cards, and enjoyed water color painting and yoga. She served on various boards and was an active member of her church.

Everyone loved Nancy! She was a loving wife, and a devoted and attentive mom. To many, she was a faithful friend for life, and her students called her “mom”. Nancy was tenacious, smart, intuitive, gentle and kind. Her genuine, unpretentious nature disarmed everyone who met her. She loved life, and served God by loving others.
